The manuscript, in Urdu,
provides many details regarding the building of the famous mausoleum of Taj
Mahal. It is certainly arguable that the Mogul Empire achieved its greatest
prosperity under Shahjahan. The Taj Mahal was built in memory of his favorite
wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took twenty-two laborious years and the combined effort
of over twenty thousand workmen and master craftsmen to build the Taj Mahal
(completed in 1648) on the banks on the river Yamuna in Agra, the capital of
the Mogul monarchs. The manuscript provides information regarding the materials
used to build the Taj and their cost, as well as other architectural details.
